Review: "again & again" - Alexa Kate

"again & again" holds the power to help us as the listener, sort through lingering emotions from past situations. We can better understand our own emotions, and the hurt that we harbor after the person we loved tosses us to the side. Often times the problem has little to do with us and everything to do with the maturity level of our partner. Alexa Kate paints this picture vividly for us and offers comfort to us by showing that we aren't alone. We come to understand the song better through the lyrics in the chorus, "And I'm so not over it / I know just how this ends / Cause it keeps happening / Again and again and again." We can resonate with feeling like the same crummy thing is happening over and over again. The verse right after the chorus shows us the reality of loving someone who isn't worthy of our time. The verse says, "So nonchalant, you said you wanted to make an impression on me / And wow, you did / Cause I thought maybe you'd be / The one to change my reality." Every aspect of the song is drenched in hard hitting truth, ugly as it may be it's necessary to hear and to feel.
