Review: "All About You" - Antoine Chambe

Antoine Chambe’s newest single, All About You, is a dance/electronic song about infatuation. Picture yourself in a club with the music blasting and you make eye contact with someone across the room. You find yourself inexplicably attracted to this person, but you can’t put your finger on why you feel that way. You don’t know them and you’re too nervous to make the first move, but you know you want them. The infatuation consumes you and makes everything you do all about that person. At one time or another, we've all had that one stranger we found so enticing we couldn't get them off our minds.

All About You starts with an infectious, pulsating drum solo. The first and second verse’s lyrics such as “I’m caught in the headlight. Baby, it’s the wrong time. The courage I can’t find, just forget it” and “It’s playground behavior. The way that I’m patient. I don’t wanna waste this, so I let it” describe the lack of confidence, but also willingness to overcome the fear of approaching this person. The pre-chorus lyrics “I don’t want to end up losing you. I’m trying, but I can’t stop” further illustrate his desperation. The chorus starts at the same volume with the buildup following. Then the beat drops and you start jamming. It ends with the same pulsating drum solo that hooked you at the beginning. I must commend the polished production and smooth vocals providing the listener with an easy listening experience. If you are an older Gen Z or younger Millennial, you will feel nostalgic listening to this song. It is very reminiscent of the EDM/house/synth pop that dominated the 2010s. It’s the type of song that makes you feel like a teenager again. Who wouldn’t want to go back in time even if only for a few moments?

Antoine Chambe is a DJ and producer from France. He releases music under his own label, Riptide Records. The record label was founded in 2015 which happened to coincide with the release of his debut single, Run Away. He has released music consistently throughout the years including his debut album, Riverside, in 2022. He has worked with world renowned producers Cimo Frankel, Romy Dya, and Jimmy Burney who are known for their collaborations with top musicians including The Weeknd, David Guetta, and Cheat Codes.
