"Chest Pains," the newest single from Melbourne native TRYHARD, is pure pop thrill. The track pairs the all-too-relatable tale of being unable to resist someone you know is bad for you with an equally irresistible dance beat. Blending EDM, House, and Pop, TRYHARD makes a pop banger destined for nightclubs everywhere. It's basically impossible to listen to without wanting to dance. "Chest Pains" is an anthem for the bad decision-makers of the world. And frankly, with the track's thumping basslines, glittery synths, and dazzling beat drops, TRYHARD makes it sound pretty appealing. “Chest Pains" is the debut single off his upcoming EP, Sequel, and if it's any indication, then the rest of the project will be a must-listen.
As a track, "Chest Pains" glows. Its high-energy production mixed with TRYHARD's cool, lowkey tone makes for near-pitch-perfect EDM. Fans of artists like Troye Sivan or Dua Lipa would find lots to love with TRYHARD. He is able to convey an emotional depth in a way that enhances the fun party beats he sings on top of. "We're two different people yet we fit completely" and "Don’t know how much more my heart can take. But damn I love these chest pains" are just a few examples of the relatable lyrical storytelling throughout the song. "Chest Pains" is an electrifying listen when you're paying close attention to the lyrics or just dancing the night away. The track is an exhilarating ride.
