Cyrus The Hokage released their brand new single titled “Day By Day!” on January 31, 2025. This song is about simply taking the day at your own pace and making sure you take it all in. Life can be a roller coaster of emotions and taking each day head on can cause so many issues with yourself or those around you. It can lead to burning yourself out and eventually not wanting to do anything at all. It’s a constant battle to stay content with yourself and all your many obligations because each day is different. “Day By Day!” reminds us to not run away from those problems in life as they all too often end badly. But rather we should run head on into those problems with those around us who are always willing to help.
“Day By Day!” is such an infectious feel-good song, it opens with a melody that reminds me of better things to come. The vocals in this track are also outstanding, you can hear the shift in tone with different choruses sung. While this entire song is very upbeat with great musical elements added to it. You can hear the happy and fun mood to it throughout even with the shifts. I would say it just adds more texture to the song which is always great. I personally loved this song. It caught my attention immediately with its catchy beat and relatable lyrics. It had the amazing vibe of a track on your favorite summer playlist and I for one did not hesitate to add it to mine.
Cyrus The Hokage is from Austin, Texas where they create music that reflects their own experiences in life. They have been creating music since 2018 with their first EP titled “The Lost Tape (2016-2018).” Crafting their own personal touch to amazing tracks with pop and R&B elements, their new single “Day By Day!” is just a taste of something new. With its bright, upbeat feel this song falls under that rock pop indie genre. “Day By Day!” is such an uplifting track and I can’t wait to hear what Cyrus The Hokage has in store for us next.
