Review: "Ever Since" - MUANH

There is nothing more frustrating than knowing who you are and doing something then later questioning yourself on everything that just happened. It is the biggest challenge in life that is constantly there. You can feel so confident about making a decision at work or telling your crush you like them or even going out and buying an expensive but well worth it gift for yourself. At some point in the night when you are left alone with all your thoughts, you start to question yourself. You ask yourself why did I make that choice and what if I can’t afford this gift plus rent next month. It is such a battle to fight with yourself knowing you made the right decision but doubt yourself anyway. “Ever Since” is the latest single released by MUANH that expresses the vulnerability of doubt that we all too often face in our daily lives.
“Ever Since” is such an honest and powerful track that was so beautifully sung. Her voice is extremely soul stirring and so soft with lyrics that are relatable and raw. I really enjoyed the lyrics because you could just feel how vulnerable she was being and how much expressing this meant to her. The entire track had this emotive feel to it from the melody at the beginning to the soft drums and guitar being played throughout. My absolute favorite part about this song was the saxophone solo being played towards the end. It caught me off guard because it was very different from the rest of the track, but I think it made for such a great ending and really made you take in this whole song.
MUANH is a singer/songwriter who grew up in the U.S. and Southwest Germany. She strives to create music that is a pure reflection of her and everything she is. Her sound is so unique as she combines so many different musical elements to create remarkable and intense feeling tracks. “Ever Since” was created with so much heart and honesty and while she normally produces her music at home, she stepped out of her comfort zone and also recorded in a studio setting. This track is already so vibe filled and recording in two locations just gave it that distinctive touch. I highly recommend listening to “Ever Since” as well as giving her other great tracks a listen as well.
