Review: "Fall At Your Feet" - CYRIL x Dean Lewis

CYRIL x Dean Lewis Fall at Your Feet Cover Art

The duo of world-famous producer CYRIL and his fellow Australian multi-platinum artist Dean Lewis have released their brand-new single “Fall at Your Feet", which is a reimagination of the 1991 song by rock band Crowded House. Let’s take a deep dive into a song which beautifully encapsulates both love and vulnerability. At its core, “Fall at your feet” is about the complexity of emotions when you’re falling in love. Many of the lyrics portray a powerful and deep-rooted romance. In particular, the pre-chorus’ “Let it go, I’ll be there when you call” and “Do you want my presence or need my help?” lyrics both emphasize the emotional intelligence hidden within the words of this song. This dance hit is about the deepening bond of two individuals falling in love. Although, not every lyric portrays sunshine and rainbows in this relationship, as the second verse also explores the strain miscommunication can have on an intimate relationship, “You’re hiding from me now / There’s something in the way that you’re talkin’.” Due to its timeless subjects and masterful lyricism, I believe this song showcases the artistry of both collaborators beautifully, and it will go on to resonate with lovers all over the globe.

The major strengths of both artists are presented in the first ten seconds of this track. CYRIL and Dean Lewis’ brand new collaboration opens with a beautifully soft piano melody, followed by the impressive vocals of Lewis. The contrast between the song’s introspective lyrics and energized dance-pop beat adds a compelling layer to the track. “Fall at Your Feet '' is very danceable, and the perfect song to nod your head to in the car. Additionally, CYRIL’s production is crystal clear and amazingly smooth. From a musical experience perspective, this song feels like a summer sunset, and it is certainly one which you will want to add to your party playlist.

Both hailing Australia, these two artists have seen their fair share of success. Sydney- native Dean Lewis has received platinum certifications for multiple singles (including his debut album!) and one could only describe the start of his journey towards stardom as a catapult. Within a few short months of his first releases Lewis was being recognized internationally and topping Australian music charts. He cites the English rock band, "Oasis" as a huge inspiration for his musical style today. As for "Fall at Your Feet" producer CYRIL, his discography is an impressive array of remixes to well-known songs. In the year 2021, he decided to take his DJ talents to Tiktok where just two short years later he found himself going immensely viral. A remix he created to the song "Stumblin' in," originally preformed by Suzi Quatro and Chris Norman reached huge audiences and his success has only skyrocketed from there. Combined, these collaborators boast over 40 million monthly Spotify listeners; and I think it's safe to say, they are quite the dynamic duo.
