When you find the person you want to spend the rest of your life with, it all too often ends in heartbreak. It’s not about finding the right person but rather finding a way for you both to work things out and continue to build a life for yourself. Not having them with you at all times of the day can take a huge toll on your emotions. But when you are with them the world feels complete and all those sad thoughts racing through your mind fade away. Viv May’s single “favorite team” gives us hope to keep fighting for love no matter how hard it may seem. Eventually in the end you will be left with someone who makes the world we live in seem not so scary.

“favorite team” opens up with such an enchanting melody that reminds you of an early morning when the birds are chirping effortlessly, and no one is up but you. She carries her vocals in the gentlest manner with soft spoken lyrics like “can’t hold a grudge / love you way too much / it’s almost silly.” Before opening into a layered track that brings the song to such an intense halt. The pre hook seriously took my breath away, with the way she overlapped her vocals to match the high beats. Her song gives off many different emotions, with each verse you go from overthinking or reminiscing about your past to wanting to get up and dance because it’s awfully relatable. “favorite team” by Viv May has the kind of playlist vibe for when you simply just do not know how to feel but you want to feel it all.

Viv May is an artist from Paderborn, Germany, whose music has that dance pop genre mixed with a variety of amazing sounds. She writes all her songs from her own residence, as she prefers to be in a more intimate setting. She even recorded “favorite team” right from her living room. Her love for music came at a young age when she started playing the piano and writing her own songs. In 2024 she released her first single titled “OBSESSION” followed by two more singles within the same year. Viv May’s music has so many personal emotions throughout making her a super relatable artist to anyone who listens. I can’t wait to see what is next for her and be sure to listen to “favorite team” and follow along on her journey of becoming a musician.
