Review: "For Another" - Max Edwards

Megan Cao

“For Another” is a lively tune with sad undertones as Edwards contemplates the near end of a rocky relationship. Both parties in the relationship know that it’s going to end inevitably, and the foreboding tension is just building and building and building as no one acknowledges what’s happening. But the lush and gorgeous soundscapes offer a semblance of comfort, of happiness through the inevitable pain.

Max Edwards utilizes an upbeat keyboard to evoke a tropical vibe alongside his breathy vocals. He pours all of his emotion and heart into his verse and plucks at the audience’s heartstrings alongside relatable lyrics. Edwards reminds us that sometimes, it’s not worth it to fight for love, especially if it becomes a burden rather than a comfort to us.

Max Edwards is a pop and R&B singer, songwriter, and producer born and raised in Whistler BC, Canada. Not only did he exercise his physical attributes with sports like skiing, biking, and skateboarding, but he also grew up writing and performing music. Writing his first song when he was merely a child, Edwards attended the Nimbus School of Recording and Media in Vancouver, gaining knowledge and experience in the music industry climate as well as his own personal style. His next project is sure to make a splash in whatever genre he lands in.
