Cera Gibson brings us yet another amazingly powerful track titled “I Found God.” While this song is extremely passionate in its storytelling it’s also very uplifting. This song is about taking back your own intimate power as it is all too often left up to your partner. We sometimes get lost in the mesmerizing details our partners or past partners possess. It’s almost as if we forget who we are and who they are inside and outside of the relationship. But through “I Found God” we hear messages of hope, that one day we will overcome those thoughts and realize that we are the only people who possess that power.

Intense melodies and sharp finger snaps open the track with an alluring feel to it. Her soft vocals chime in for just a few seconds before transitioning into a sort of dark and compelling tone. Throughout the entire song we hear such highly intense synths that go with the rhythm of her singing. I personally found that overlap to be the heart of the song as it brings up the mood and gives off the perfect vibe for a get up and dance song. While the whole song has many great musical elements to it, the ending leaves us with an exhilarating guitar solo which was my absolute favorite part. “I Found God” was the perfect track to start off her latest EP titled “pinksoak.”

Singer/songwriter Cera Gibson is from Salt Lake City, Utah where her passion for creating music was found at a young age. While creating music is something she has always done, it wasn't until 2019 when she released her first single titled “Blood Diamond.” Gibson loves to make music, but she also has a very avid online presence where she posts funny and relatable content. Her genre has a unique touch to it in my opinion, as she has pop songs mixed with wicked pop/rock instrumentals. After listening to “I Found God” be sure to listen to the five other great tracks on “pinksoak.” You can also catch her along with many other performers at her worship concert set for April.
