Review: "Little Man" - Jeremy M

“Little Man” is the latest single from the marvelous Jeremy M. Going out into the world on your own is quite possibly the scariest thing you’ll ever have to do. For a majority of our lives, we spend it with those who are closest to us whether it’s our family members or our friends. No matter the situation they are always there to reassure us that it’s going to be okay. But when they are gone and it’s just us all by ourselves the fear kicks in and the thoughts start to take over. “Little Man” is a song that highlights those fears and gives us courage to rise above and power through life, because no matter how scary something may seem, not doing it will lead to some of our greatest regrets.
“Little Man” begins with the most ethereal, nature filled sounds. The birds begin to chirp, reminding me that a new day has started with more opportunities to become better than the day before. Jeremy M has such a soothing and delicate voice that just makes you want to play this track on repeat. I couldn’t get enough of this song. It was so beautifully written, especially with lyrics like, “And I remember who I am again” and “Slow down, fly low / Look out through the window.” Paired with the lyrics were the soft drums and this shimmering sound throughout which gave it that warm feeling. Overall, this track was so elegant and serene in every possible way.
Jeremy M is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Newcastle upon Tyne, England. While he has been writing music since his teenage years, it wasn’t until the 2020 pandemic when he started compiling them together to make spectacular music. Jeremy creates music that is so notable and shows the raw reflections of his life. His genre can be categorized as indie pop with his heartfelt lyrics and unique sounds. “Little Man” is a lovely song, and I highly recommend you give it a listen as well as some of his other great tracks.
