Review: "Someone Else" - GT_Ofice

GT_Ofice Someone Else Cover Art

GT_Ofice’s brand new bittersweet single entitled “Someone Else” brings dancefloor energy with a touch of emotion. At first glance this EDM track is a joyful party song with a catchy chorus, however its lyrics carry themes of loneliness and heartbreak. The all encompassing lyric and chorus of the song reads, “I’ve run out of ideas, I forgot how it feels to be someone/ But you’re someone to someone else.” Here, GT_Ofice gets vulnerable about the emptiness which came after a previous relationship found new love. Seeing someone you were once in love with find their match can be a discouraging feeling, and “Someone Else” will be relatable to anyone who feels like an outsider among other couples, or even their friends. Now that we know what it’s about, let’s get into how it sounds!

This bass-driven dance hit showcases a classic EDM beat introduction which slowly builds until the main drop after its chorus. Overall, the production (some of which completed by GT_Ofice himself) is clean and polished. “Someone Else” has a relaxed tone and slower tempo. The beat is steady and dark, it contrasts nicely with its accompanying bright, euphoric vocals. This more melodic take on EDM is better suited for the reflective nature of the lyrics and themes. In its entirety, “Someone Else” is an impressive piece of music and definitely worth taking a listen to.

With an impressive 20 million streams and 83,000 monthly Spotify listeners, GT_Ofice is making waves as an Electronic Dance Music artist with the support of some of its giants, Timmy Trumpet and R3HAB. Since the inception of his career in 2019, GT_Ofice’s momentum has been more than steadily increasing. Naturally, this new single is expected to receive the same buzz and radio play as his other previous EDM hits. Additionally, his recent singles “Feels Like Us” with Alwz Snny and “Tuff” with VASSY have both charted on major platforms.
